The longer version.

Intro

Hey I’m Jonathan. I’m a software engineer, which doesn’t really mean much by itself. To me it means I like to:

  1. Build things: APIs, front-end UX, integrations, you name it.
  2. Solve problems: big, small, ambiguous, well-defined, any kind.

And I care about how we do them.

Background

I’m Filipino-American, which means I was raised with a deep respect for food as a love language. My favorites include: KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), sushi, pizza, coffee and milk tea (at basically any hour). Finding my go-to spots in a city is genuinely one of my favorite things to do.

Outside of work, I run (seasonally). I ran my first full marathon in 2025 and will probably drag myself through another training program before it gets too cold for my sensitive body.

I also love games - mostly video games, but board games too. I’m the kind of gamer who will spend twenty hours on a game’s side content before doing the main story.

This is my personal space — where I write about what I’m building, places I’ve been / things I ate, and whatever else has my attention. It’s intentionally separate from my professional profile, which is where you should go if you want my resume.
